162 Asian Indian Members of Parliament face criminal charges

162 Indian Parliament members stink
 It was reported that the Supreme Court of India has sought response from the Central Government of India and the states on a plea seeking to fast track court proceedings in criminal cases pending against Members of Parliament, saying it is "very disturbing" that 162 lawmakers are facing various criminal charges.

Senior advocate Rajiv Dhavan, appearing for former Chief Election Commissioner J M Lyngdoh, submitted that 162 Members of Parliament were involved in various criminal cases and out of them, 76 were facing charges of serious nature and that they must be referred to fast track courts for timely disposal.
