Special Blessing for the Golden Crown?

According to Indian Express News Service, a massive 31-kg diamond and gems studded gold crown, donated by Karnataka Minister and managing director of Brahmani Steel Industries Gali Janardhan Reddy, was taken out in a procession in the four mada streets of the temple of Lord Venkateswara, after Sahasra Deepalankara seva, this evening. The crown is worth about Rs 45 crore.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams already has six gold and diamond crowns that are used to adorn the main idol in the sanctum sanctorum.

I realize that people have a right to do spend their fortunes any way they wish, whether on a hat for the God or donating to charities to mitigate human suffering or shoving it where the sun does not shine, but what the fock is wrong with some desis and their interpretation of Hinduism? In my opinion, this is a cheap ass publicity and business stunt.
