The Desi doctor from Galion

A federal grand jury returned a 202-count indictment this week against a former Galion doctor accused of drug trafficking and related violations.

Narendra Kumar Agrawal
, 89 Cedargate Court, was licensed by the Ohio Medical Board and specialized in internal medicine, critical care medicine and cardiovascular disease.

The indictment alleges Narendra Kumar Agrawal wrote 2,140 prescriptions and distributed 299,136 tablets of oxycodone and wrote 1,747 prescriptions and distributed 188,662 tablets of hydrocodone (primarily Vicodin, Lortab, Loricet or a generic brand). He also is alleged to have written 2,542 prescriptions for Xanax, totaling 229,305 tablets.
